Quick Intro
VEI Clinic Apgujeong is an English-friendly internal-medicine clinic in Gangnam providing same-day blood draws and doctor-guided test selection. We’re on the 3rd floor of Beneheim City, 162 Apgujeong-ro, a short walk from Apgujeong Station (Exit 5).
What We Offer
- Routine wellness labs: CBC, CMP, kidney/liver tests, lipids, HbA1c, thyroid (TSH ± FT4), vitamin D, ferritin/iron panel, B12/folate.
- Acute care labs: CRP/ESR, electrolytes, glucose/ketones, pregnancy test, urinalysis; rapid screens as indicated.
- Travel & workup panels: hepatitis A/B/C, HIV, syphilis, STI panels, immunity titers (measles/mumps/rubella, varicella, hepatitis B surface Ab), TB screening (IGRA).
- Specialty checks (case-by-case): hormones, autoimmune markers, celiac screen, allergy IgE panel, stool/parasite tests, micronutrients.
- Follow your doctor’s order: Bring any external lab slip—we’ll draw and arrange processing where appropriate.
A physician reviews your history/medications and ensures the right tests are ordered (no “one-size-fits-all” bundles).
Fasting & Prep (Read Before You Come)
- Fasting: For lipids/metabolic labs, 8–12 hours water-only fast is often preferred (individualized by the doctor).
- Morning draw recommended if fasting. Stay well-hydrated.
- Medications/supplements: Bring a full list. Ask if you should delay biotin (can interfere with some hormone/thyroid/troponin assays) and avoid heavy alcohol the night before.
- Menstruation/pregnancy: Tell us—some reference ranges and test timing differ.
- Illness/travel: Note fevers, jet lag, or recent vaccines; timing can affect certain results.
Visit Flow (Typically 20–40 Minutes)
- Check-in & brief review → symptoms, goals, meds, allergies.
- Physician selects tests → only what’s relevant; costs explained.
- Phlebotomy → experienced, gentle draw; optional numbing spray.
- Results & next steps → secure delivery with an English summary; treatment or referral if indicated.
Results & Delivery
- Most routine panels: typically within 1–2 business days (varies by test).
- Specialty send-outs: may take longer; we’ll advise timing.
- Delivery options: in-clinic review, secure PDF, or telemedicine follow-up with actionable, plain-English notes.
Safety & Comfort
- Single-use sterile supplies, privacy-first rooms.
- If you’ve had fainting with blood draws, tell us so we can position you safely.
- After your draw: press the cotton firmly for 3–5 minutes; keep the bandage on for ~30–60 minutes; avoid heavy arm workouts the same day.
When Blood Tests Are Urgent (Go to an ER Instead)
Seek emergency care for chest pain, severe shortness of breath, confusion, fainting, black/bloody stool, or sudden neurologic symptoms. Time-sensitive emergencies shouldn’t wait for an outpatient lab visit.
What to Bring
- Photo ID (passport if visiting)
