Stem cell hormone therapy in Seoul: measure before you treat
Fatigue, mood swings, poor sleep, weight change and low libido are often blamed on hormones. Sometimes they are, and the right tests can show it. A "stem cell" drip cannot.

Stem cell hormone therapy in Seoul is approached at VEI Clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam as a consultation, not a treatment package. Dr. HyunSung Park, an internal medicine specialist and ISSCR member, uses proper hormone and thyroid tests to look for a real imbalance, explains the limited stem cell evidence and Korean law, and arranges proven treatment or referral.
How a stem cell hormone therapy consultation works
Clinics advertising stem cell hormone therapy in Seoul often promise "balance" for energy, mood, sleep and skin. At VEI Clinic we run this as a consultation-based program. Dr. HyunSung Park, a board-certified internal medicine specialist and member of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR), starts with your symptoms: when they began, how they affect your day, your menstrual or sexual health, sleep, weight, stress and medicines.
He explains what hormone drips labeled stem cell contain, what the evidence shows, what Korean law permits and whether anything is suitable for you. Then he chooses tests that can actually confirm or rule out a hormone problem.
Before your visit, it helps to note your symptoms over a few weeks, the dates of your periods if you have them, and any supplements, contraceptives or hormone products you use, including creams and gels. Biotin supplements can distort some thyroid and hormone results, so mention them; Dr. Park may ask you to pause them for a few days before testing.
Why a stem cell drip cannot "balance" hormones
Hormones are made by specific glands, such as the thyroid, ovaries, testes, adrenal glands and pituitary, and are tightly regulated by feedback loops. When one is truly out of range, the cause is usually a specific condition, such as an underactive thyroid, menopause, low testosterone, polycystic ovary syndrome or a medicine side effect, and each has its own proven treatment.
Products sold as stem cell hormone therapy usually contain conditioned media or exosomes with nutrients. They are cell-free and contain no living stem cells, and there is no reliable evidence that they change hormone levels or symptoms. In Korea, living-cell treatments are lawful only as MFDS-approved products for their approved conditions, or under the Advanced Regenerative Bio Act, amended in February 2025, at designated regenerative medical institutions with officially approved treatment plans. None is approved for hormone balance.
Evidence-based hormone assessment at VEI Clinic
Hormone tests are only useful when they are chosen well and timed correctly. Depending on your symptoms, Dr. Park may arrange:
- Thyroid tests (TSH, free T4 and, where relevant, thyroid antibodies), with thyroid ultrasound if a lump or swelling is found
- For women: tests timed to the menstrual cycle, such as FSH, LH, estradiol and prolactin, and tests for polycystic ovary syndrome when periods are irregular
- For men: early-morning testosterone, repeated to confirm a low result, with LH and FSH to find the cause
- Blood sugar, cholesterol, iron and vitamin D, since these often explain symptoms blamed on hormones
- Cortisol testing only when there are signs of a true adrenal disorder; adrenal fatigue is not a recognized medical diagnosis
Who this suits, and how treatment is decided
The consultation suits adults with symptoms that might be hormonal, women approaching or going through menopause who want clear information, men worried about low testosterone, and anyone who has been offered a hormone "balancing" drip and wants a medical opinion.
Thyroid problems can usually be managed at the clinic. For menopause hormone therapy, testosterone treatment or fertility concerns, Dr. Park explains the benefits and risks and refers you to a gynecologist, urologist or endocrinologist where specialist care is needed. Testosterone should not be started without confirmed low levels, and over-the-counter hormone or "bioidentical" products need caution, especially with a history of breast or prostate cancer, blood clots or heart disease.
Whatever the results, Dr. Park also looks at the everyday factors that shape hormones: sleep, body weight, alcohol, training load and stress. Small, sustained changes in these areas often ease symptoms, and they make any medical treatment work better.

Common questions
Does VEI Clinic offer stem cell hormone therapy in Seoul?
We offer stem cell hormone therapy in Seoul only as a consultation-based program. Dr. Park explains the evidence and Korean law, then uses proper hormone tests to find any real imbalance. We do not sell cell infusions for hormones, because none is approved for that use in Korea.
Can stem cells fix menopause symptoms?
There is no evidence that they can. Hot flashes, poor sleep and vaginal dryness have well-studied treatments, both hormonal and non-hormonal, which a doctor can match to your health history.
Why does the timing of hormone tests matter?
Many hormones change through the day or the menstrual cycle. Testosterone is highest in the morning, and female hormones vary by cycle day, so poorly timed tests can be misleading.
Is adrenal fatigue real?
Adrenal fatigue is not a recognized medical diagnosis, and the saliva tests often used for it are unreliable. Real adrenal disorders exist but are uncommon, and they are diagnosed with specific blood tests.
Can stress affect my hormones?
Yes. Stress, poor sleep, low body weight and intense exercise can disturb periods and lower testosterone. Addressing those factors often helps more than any supplement.
How much does a hormone assessment cost?
It depends on the consultation and the tests you need. We quote the full price before testing, and national health insurance may cover tests ordered for a medical reason.
This page is general information reviewed by a physician and is not a substitute for a personal consultation. Treatment suitability, benefits and risks differ for each person and are discussed with you before any care. In an emergency in Korea, call 119.
