- Referrals: abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy/colonoscopy, GI surgery as appropriate
- Treatment: anti-nausea/antispasmodic meds, acid suppression (PPI/H2), oral antibiotics when indicated, IV hydration for moderate dehydration
Visit flow (what to expect)

How to prepare (if you can)
- Bring a medication/supplement list (include acid reducers, NSAIDs).
- If H. pylori breath test is likely: avoid PPIs/antibiotics beforehand as advised.
- For stool testing: we’ll provide a kit and instructions.
- Arrive hydrated; light fasting may be requested for certain labs (we’ll advise case-by-case).
Red flags (go to an ER or call 119)
- Severe, crushing, or spreading abdominal pain, rigid abdomen
- Persistent vomiting, inability to keep fluids, signs of severe dehydration
- Black/tarry stools, bright red blood, or vomiting blood
- High fever with confusion, yellowing of skin/eyes, or sudden severe back pain
- Chest pain or shortness of breath with GI symptoms
