Our medical review policy
Health information should be accurate, balanced and honest about uncertainty. This is how we try to make sure ours is.

VEI Clinic's medical review policy means every health page is written in plain English, checked against current guidelines and official drug labels, and reviewed by Dr. HyunSung Park, a board-certified internist, before publication. Pages are updated when guidance changes, and readers can report errors to our clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam.
Why we have a medical review policy
People make real decisions based on health information, so it needs to be right. Our medical review policy sets out how content on this website is written, checked and maintained, so you can judge how much to rely on it.
This website is published by VEI Clinic, a medical clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul. Our pages describe conditions, tests and treatments that we offer or that patients ask us about. They are not a substitute for a consultation with a doctor who knows your history.
We publish this policy so that patients, other doctors and anyone reading our pages can see the standards we hold ourselves to, and hold us to them.
How content is written
Pages are written in clear, plain English for expats and travelers. Each page starts with a short, direct answer, then explains the details: who a test or treatment suits, who should avoid it, side effects, and what it costs to think about. Where symptoms are discussed, we include warning signs that need urgent care, including when to call 119 in Korea.
We aim to describe evidence honestly. If a treatment has limited evidence, such as IV vitamin drips for wellness or stem cell treatments for many conditions, we say so.
Each page also explains how a visit for that topic works at our clinic, so you know what to expect before you come in. We avoid jargon where we can, and where a medical term is needed, we explain it.
We aim to make each page answer the question a patient is actually asking, such as what something costs, whether it is safe, or whether it is right for them, rather than repeating general descriptions found elsewhere.
Our sources
We do not base medical claims on marketing materials from manufacturers or on patient anecdotes.
When sources disagree, for example where Korean and international guidelines differ on screening ages, we say so and explain what that means in practice. Where evidence is limited or still emerging, we describe it as such rather than presenting early findings as established fact.
- World Health Organization (WHO) guidance
- Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) recommendations, including vaccination schedules
- Official product labels and approvals from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS)
- Clinical guidelines from recognized specialty societies in Korea and internationally, for example in gastroenterology, cardiology, endocrinology and diabetes
- Peer-reviewed research, preferring systematic reviews and large trials over single small studies
Medical review by Dr. HyunSung Park
Before publication, every medical page is reviewed by Dr. HyunSung Park, our medical director. He is a board-certified internal medicine specialist and gastroenterology subspecialist who has treated patients in Korea since 2010.
His review checks that facts, doses and drug details match current guidelines and labels; that risks, side effects and contraindications are stated honestly; that red-flag advice is present where needed; and that nothing overstates what a treatment can do.
If Dr. Park disagrees with a draft, the page is changed before it is published. Pages that involve prescription medicines, such as weight loss injections, are checked against the current approved label for doses, side effects and contraindications.
What we will not publish
Korea's Medical Service Act restricts how clinics may advertise, and we follow it. That means our pages do not include:
We also avoid presenting any treatment as suitable for everyone. Each treatment page includes who it suits and who should not have it, because a balanced picture matters more than persuasion.
- Patient testimonials, reviews or before-and-after claims
- Words such as best, number one, guaranteed or cure
- Comparisons that disparage other clinics
- Invented statistics or prices presented as fixed
Updates and reporting errors
We review pages when guidelines, drug labels or regulations change, and periodically otherwise. Significant changes are checked again by Dr. Park.
If you believe something on this site is inaccurate, out of date or unclear, please tell us on WhatsApp (+82-10-5700-7597). Include the page and what you think is wrong. We will look into it and correct the page if needed.
Remember that general information cannot account for your history, medicines or examination. Please book a consultation before acting on anything you read here, and in an emergency call 119.
When a correction changes the medical meaning of a page, the updated version is reviewed by Dr. Park before it goes live again.

Common questions
What does your medical review policy cover?
It covers every page on this site that gives medical information, including conditions, tests, treatments and prices. It explains how content is written, sourced, reviewed by a doctor and kept up to date.
Who reviews the content?
Dr. HyunSung Park, VEI Clinic's medical director and a board-certified internal medicine specialist, reviews medical content before it is published.
Can I use this information instead of seeing a doctor?
No. Our pages give general information. A consultation is needed to account for your history, medicines and examination, and urgent symptoms need emergency care.
Why do you not show patient reviews?
Korean medical advertising law restricts testimonials and similar claims on clinic websites. We focus instead on clear, accurate information so you can make your own decisions.
How do I report an error?
Message us on WhatsApp (+82-10-5700-7597) with the page and the issue. We will review it and correct the page where needed.
Do drug companies influence your content?
We do not base medical statements on manufacturer marketing. Drug details come from official labels and approvals, and clinical guidance from independent bodies.
This page is general information reviewed by a physician and is not a substitute for a personal consultation. Treatment suitability, benefits and risks differ for each person and are discussed with you before any care. In an emergency in Korea, call 119.
