This VEI Clinic FAQ answers common questions about visiting our clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam: consultations in English with Dr. HyunSung Park, booking on WhatsApp, walk-ins, payment, privacy, what to bring to a first visit, how results are shared, and remote follow-up after you leave Seoul.
Language and communication
Do the doctors speak English? Yes. Dr. HyunSung Park, our medical director, consults 1:1 in English as well as Korean. This VEI Clinic FAQ is written mainly for international patients, and you can explain your symptoms in your own words without an interpreter.
Can I get documents in English? Yes. On request we provide English receipts, medical notes and reports, which are useful for insurance claims and for your doctor at home.
What if I am more comfortable in Korean? Consultations are also available in Korean, so mixed-language families can be seen together.
Booking and walk-ins
How do I book? Message us on WhatsApp at +82-10-5700-7597 (wa.link/veiclinic). Tell us briefly why you are coming so we can allow enough time.
Can I walk in? Yes, walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. Booking ahead reduces waiting, especially on Saturdays.
When are you open? Monday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 to 19:00; Tuesday 10:00 to 20:00; Saturday 10:00 to 16:00. We are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays, and lunch is 13:00 to 14:00 on weekdays.
Can I book for someone else? Yes. Give us the patient's name and the reason for the visit; the patient will need to attend and bring their own ID.
What if I am running late? Send us a WhatsApp message. We will try to see you, though you may wait a little longer if other patients are booked.
Payment and insurance
How can I pay? We accept major credit cards and Korean payment methods. If you would like to use another method, ask us before your visit.
Will I know the cost in advance? For services not covered by national health insurance, we give you the full price before treatment so you can decide.
Can I use my insurance? If you are enrolled in Korea's national health insurance, covered care is billed with a co-payment. For travel or private insurance, you usually pay first and claim later with our English documents.
Do you charge more for foreigners? No. Fees depend on the service and on whether national health insurance applies, not on nationality.
Privacy
Is my information kept confidential? Yes. Your medical records are handled under Korea's medical and personal information laws and are only shared with your consent or where the law requires.
Can you send results to my doctor at home? Yes, with your written consent. Tell us where you would like them sent.
Is messaging on WhatsApp private? WhatsApp is convenient for booking and simple questions. For detailed medical information, we may suggest discussing it in person.
Will you share my information with my employer or insurer? Not without your consent. If your employer or insurer needs a document, we provide it to you or to them only with your agreement.
Your first visit
Where are you? VEI Clinic is on the 3rd floor of Beneheim City (the Jamba Juice building), 162 Apgujeong-ro, Gangnam-gu, about one minute from Apgujeong Station Exit 5 on Line 3.
What should I bring? Your passport or Korean residence card, a list of medicines and supplements, any recent test results, and insurance details. If you are having blood tests, ask whether to fast.
What happens at the visit? You register, complete a short health form, then see Dr. Park for a 1:1 consultation. Any tests, injections or IV therapy are done during the same visit where possible.
Should I fast before my visit? Only if you are having fasting blood tests, such as glucose or cholesterol. When you book, tell us what you are coming for and we will let you know. Keep taking your usual medicines unless the doctor tells you otherwise.
Results and remote follow-up
How do I get my results? Some results are ready the same day; others take a few days. The doctor explains them in person or remotely, and you can request a written English report.
What if I leave Seoul before results are ready? Remote follow-up is available, so results and next steps can be discussed after you return home.
What if I need care you do not provide? Endoscopy, surgery and emergency care are not offered here, and we can refer you to a hospital. In an emergency, call 119.
Can I get a prescription refill? Often yes, if the doctor can confirm the medicine is appropriate. Bring the packaging or prescription from home, as names and doses can differ between countries.
