Same day doctor appointment in Seoul: how to be seen today
Most problems that cannot wait a week do not need an emergency room either. Here is how to get seen today, and how to tell which is which.
3F, 162 Apgujeong-ro, Gangnam-gu
Apgujeong Station (Line 3), Exit 5 · 1 min walk
To get a same day doctor appointment in Seoul, message VEI Clinic on WhatsApp in the morning or walk in during opening hours. The clinic is one minute from Apgujeong Station Exit 5 in Gangnam, and Dr. HyunSung Park sees patients in English. It handles non-emergency problems; emergencies should go to an ER via 119.
Getting a same day doctor appointment in Seoul
In Korea, most local clinics see patients on the day, often without any appointment at all. That makes a same day doctor appointment in Seoul much easier to get than in many countries. The challenge for foreigners is usually finding a clinic where the doctor speaks English and knowing when the clinic is actually open.
VEI Clinic accepts both walk-ins and booked visits. If you want to be seen today, the most reliable route is a WhatsApp message as early as you can, telling us your symptoms and when you can get here. We reply with the earliest available time. If you would rather just come in, you are welcome to walk in during opening hours, but you may have to wait if booked patients are ahead of you.
Walk-in or WhatsApp: which is better?
Both work. The difference is mostly about how much waiting you are willing to do.
Whichever route you choose, include a few details when you message: your main symptom, how long it has been going on, any fever, and whether you are already taking medicine for it. That helps us tell you quickly whether a same-day clinic visit makes sense or whether you should go to a hospital instead.
- WhatsApp (+82-10-5700-7597): ideal if your schedule is tight, you are coming from across the city, or you need a fasting blood test and want to time it
- Walk-in: fine if you are nearby and flexible; arriving soon after opening or soon after lunch usually means a shorter wait
Today's hours matter
A same-day plan only works if we are open. We are open Monday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 to 19:00, Tuesday 10:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 16:00. Weekdays have a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00. We are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.
If you are unwell on a Wednesday or Sunday, many other local clinics and hospital emergency departments are still available. For a non-urgent problem, you can message us to book the next day we are open.
Tuesday evenings until 20:00 are especially useful if symptoms start during the workday and you cannot leave until later.
What a clinic can handle today, and what is truly urgent
A same-day clinic visit is the right choice for problems that are uncomfortable or worrying but not dangerous. Typical examples include:
If you are not sure where your symptoms fit, message us. When something sounds like it needs a hospital, we will say so plainly rather than book you in.
- Cold, flu-like illness, sore throat, cough or fever in an otherwise well adult
- Burning on urination or other signs of a urinary tract infection
- Stomach upset, diarrhea, reflux or mild abdominal pain
- Allergy flare-ups, rashes such as shingles, or a headache similar to ones you have had before
- Running out of a regular medicine, or needing a blood pressure or blood sugar check
Red flags: skip the clinic and call 119
Some symptoms need an emergency department, not a same-day appointment. Call 119 or go to the nearest hospital ER if you have chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath, signs of a stroke (facial droop, arm weakness, slurred speech), a sudden worst-ever headache, fainting, a seizure, severe abdominal pain, vomiting blood or black stools, heavy bleeding, a serious injury, or swelling of the face, lips or throat after a sting, food or medicine.
We do not provide emergency care, X-rays for fractures, stitches for deep wounds, surgery or endoscopy. If you come in and the doctor finds something that needs a hospital, we can refer you to a hospital and tell you what to expect.

Common questions
Can I really get a same day doctor appointment in Seoul?
Usually, yes. Korean local clinics commonly see patients the same day, and VEI Clinic accepts walk-ins and same-day bookings. Messaging on WhatsApp early in the day gives you a better chance of a time that suits you.
How long will I wait as a walk-in?
It depends on how busy the day is and how many booked patients are ahead of you. Waits tend to be shorter right after opening and just after the lunch break. Messaging before you set off lets us tell you roughly what to expect.
What if I message after the clinic closes?
We reply when we are next open. If you are unwell in the evening and it cannot wait until morning, use a hospital emergency department. If you think it is an emergency, call 119.
Can I get blood tests on the same day as my visit?
Yes, blood can usually be drawn during the same visit if the doctor recommends it. Some tests need fasting, so mention it when booking if you want to be tested and have not eaten yet. Results take time depending on the test.
Is this the same as urgent care in the U.S.?
Partly. We handle many of the same minor illnesses as a U.S. urgent care center, but we do not do X-rays for injuries, stitches or fracture care. For those, a hospital emergency department is the right place in Korea.
Do I need insurance for a same-day visit?
No. If you are enrolled in Korean national health insurance, bring your ARC and covered services are billed accordingly. If not, you pay directly, and we confirm the price of tests or treatments before they are done.
