A Saturday clinic in Seoul for the week you couldn't take off
Saturday is often the only day people working full-time can see a doctor without juggling meetings. Here is what you can get done in one Saturday visit.
3F, 162 Apgujeong-ro, Gangnam-gu
Apgujeong Station (Line 3), Exit 5 · 1 min walk
VEI Clinic is a Saturday clinic in Seoul, open 10:00 to 16:00 without a lunch break, one minute from Apgujeong Station Exit 5 in Gangnam. Dr. HyunSung Park sees patients in English for sick visits, checkups, blood tests, vaccinations, IV therapy and weight-loss follow-ups. The clinic is closed on Sundays and Wednesdays.
A Saturday clinic in Seoul with English-speaking care
For many expats, a Saturday clinic in Seoul is the only realistic way to see a doctor. Weekday office hours overlap with work, and taking a half day for a routine check rarely feels worth it. VEI Clinic is open every Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00, and unlike weekdays there is no lunch break, so you can come at midday.
Every consultation is with Dr. HyunSung Park, a board-certified internal medicine specialist, held 1:1 in English. Saturday visits are the same as weekday visits: same doctor, same tests and the same explanation of costs before any treatment.
What you can get done on a Saturday
Some lab results come back during the following week rather than the same day. If so, you can review them at your next visit or arrange how you would like to hear about them.
- Sick visits: colds, flu, fever, coughs, UTIs, allergies and stomach upsets that started during the week
- Checkups and blood tests: come fasting for a morning slot if your tests require it
- Chronic condition reviews: blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and thyroid follow-ups, with prescription renewals
- Ultrasound: abdominal or thyroid ultrasound when the doctor recommends it
- Vaccinations: including flu shots in season and hepatitis B
- Weight-loss follow-ups: check-ins for patients on GLP-1 medicines such as Wegovy or Mounjaro
- IV therapy: hydration and vitamin drips after a medical review; allow extra time for the drip itself
Planning around Wednesday and Sunday closures
The clinic is closed on both Wednesday and Sunday. That matters if you start feeling unwell on Saturday afternoon: after 16:00 on Saturday, the next time we are open is Monday at 10:00.
A practical rule: if a problem is getting worse on Saturday morning, come in that day rather than hoping it settles over the weekend. If you are taking a new medicine or starting a weight-loss program, a Saturday start lets us review you again early the following week.
Korean public holidays can also change our schedule, even when they fall on a Saturday. Before a long weekend or holiday such as Chuseok or Lunar New Year, message us to confirm we are open.
Making the most of a Saturday appointment
Because Saturday time is precious, a little preparation goes a long way. If you want to cover several things in one visit, such as a lingering cough, a prescription renewal and a flu shot, list them in your booking message so the right amount of time is set aside.
Bring your medication list and any recent results from other clinics, especially if you are coming for a chronic condition review. If you are planning an IV drip, eat a light meal beforehand unless you have been asked to fast for blood tests, and allow time for the drip itself on top of the consultation. Patients starting a weight-loss medicine often prefer Saturday because any early side effects, such as nausea, tend to appear in the first days, when they can rest at home.
Who a Saturday visit suits
Saturday appointments suit office workers, teachers, parents who share childcare with a partner during the week and students with weekday classes. They are also convenient for people who want an IV drip or a longer checkup without watching the clock.
Because Saturdays are popular, booking ahead on WhatsApp is strongly recommended. Walk-ins are welcome, but you may wait longer than on a weekday.
Weekend red flags
Some symptoms should not wait for Saturday clinic hours or until Monday. Call 119 or go to a hospital emergency room for chest pain, breathing difficulty, stroke symptoms, a seizure, fainting, severe abdominal pain, vomiting blood, heavy bleeding, a severe allergic reaction or a serious injury. Hospital emergency departments in Seoul are open around the clock, including Sundays.
For problems that are unpleasant but not dangerous on a Sunday, such as a mild cold, a pharmacist can often suggest simple remedies to tide you over until Monday.

Common questions
What are the hours for this Saturday clinic in Seoul?
VEI Clinic is open on Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00, with no lunch break. The last booking time depends on the type of visit, so book earlier in the day if you need a longer service like an IV drip.
Are you open on Sunday?
No. The clinic is closed on Sundays and Wednesdays. For urgent problems on those days, use a hospital emergency department or another open clinic, and call 119 for emergencies.
Is Saturday care more expensive?
Under Korean national health insurance rules, covered visits at certain times, including Saturday, can carry a modest surcharge. For non-covered services we quote the full price before treatment, so you know the cost in advance.
Can I get a fasting blood test on Saturday?
Yes. Book an early slot so you do not have to fast for too long, and tell us in your message which tests you are interested in. Drinking water is usually fine; the doctor will confirm.
Will my results be ready the same day?
Some simple results are available quickly, but many lab tests are processed externally and take a few days. The doctor will tell you which applies and how you will receive your results.
Are you open on Saturdays that are public holidays?
Not always. Korean public holidays can change our schedule. Please message us before any holiday weekend to confirm we are open.
