For stem cell chronic fatigue questions in Seoul, VEI Clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam offers a consultation, not infusions. Dr. HyunSung Park, an internal medicine specialist and ISSCR member, runs a structured fatigue work-up with blood tests, explains what stem cell research shows for ME/CFS and long COVID, the Korean legal pathway, and evidence-based ways to manage symptoms.
Stem cell chronic fatigue treatment in Seoul: our approach
When tiredness lasts for months, it is easy to be drawn to anything that promises renewed energy, including stem cell chronic fatigue programs in Seoul that offer a series of infusions. Most of these use exosome or conditioned media products, which contain no living stem cells and are not approved in Korea as injectable treatments for fatigue.
VEI Clinic does not give stem cell infusions. Our program is consultation-based. Dr. HyunSung Park, a board-certified internal medicine specialist and member of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR), starts by looking for causes of fatigue that can be found and treated, then explains the research on stem cells for your situation, which legal route any treatment would require and whether anything is genuinely suitable.
It helps to bring previous test results, a list of medicines and supplements, and a simple two-week diary of activity, sleep and symptoms. Patterns in that diary, such as crashes after busy days, often guide the diagnosis more than any single test.
First, a proper fatigue work-up
Many conditions cause persistent tiredness, and several are common and fixable. Depending on your history and examination, the work-up may include:
- Full blood count, iron and ferritin, vitamin B12, folate and vitamin D
- Thyroid function, blood sugar and HbA1c, liver and kidney tests
- Inflammation markers and selected hormone tests
- Hepatitis B and other infection tests where relevant
- A review of sleep, including symptoms of sleep apnea, and of mood and anxiety
- A careful look at medicines, alcohol, caffeine and supplements
- Abdominal ultrasound or gut testing if digestive symptoms are part of the picture
ME/CFS, long COVID and what stem cell research shows
If no other cause explains your symptoms, Dr. Park will consider myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) or post-viral fatigue such as long COVID. A key feature is post-exertional malaise: a crash in symptoms a day or two after physical or mental effort that is out of proportion to the activity. Recognizing it matters, because pushing harder can make things worse.
Stem cell approaches for ME/CFS and long COVID have been explored only in small, early studies, and there is no reliable evidence that they improve fatigue. In Korea, cell therapies are lawful only as MFDS-approved products for their approved indications, or under the Advanced Regenerative Bio Act, amended in February 2025, at designated regenerative medical institutions with approved treatment plans. If a legitimate clinical trial becomes relevant to you, Dr. Park can help you assess it and prepare a referral.
Unproven infusions also carry risks, including infection, fever and allergic reactions, and people with ME/CFS can be left more unwell after an exhausting course of treatments and travel. The ISSCR advises patients not to pay for stem cell interventions offered outside clinical trials or approved use.
Evidence-based support we provide
There is no single cure for ME/CFS, but many people improve their day-to-day function with a structured plan. At VEI Clinic this can include:
- Pacing: planning activity within your energy limits to reduce crashes
- Treating sleep problems, pain, headaches and dizziness on standing
- Correcting any deficiency or medical problem found in the work-up
- Gentle, symptom-guided return to activity rather than forced exercise
- Regular follow-up, work or study letters where appropriate, and English summaries for your home doctor
Who this suits, who should not, and red flags
This program suits adults with fatigue lasting more than a few weeks, people with suspected or diagnosed ME/CFS or long COVID, and anyone weighing a stem cell fatigue package who wants an independent view. It is not a substitute for urgent care, and people who are pregnant, have active cancer or uncontrolled heart, kidney or liver disease should avoid any experimental infusion.
Standard IV hydration or vitamin drips are available at the clinic, but we suggest one only with a clear reason, because the evidence for lasting energy benefit is limited.
Fatigue with any of the following needs urgent care. Call 119 or go to an emergency department for:
- Chest pain, shortness of breath or fainting
- Sudden weakness, numbness, confusion or difficulty speaking
- Vomiting blood, black stools or severe abdominal pain
- Thoughts of harming yourself or feeling unable to stay safe

Common questions
Do you offer stem cell chronic fatigue treatment in Seoul?
We offer a consultation and full fatigue work-up in Seoul, not stem cell infusions. Dr. Park explains the research, the legal pathway in Korea and evidence-based treatment options.
Can stem cells cure chronic fatigue syndrome?
No treatment, including stem cells, has been shown to cure ME/CFS. Stem cell studies in this area are small and early, so we focus on finding treatable causes and managing symptoms.
Which blood tests check for causes of fatigue?
Common tests include a blood count, iron, B12, folate, vitamin D, thyroid function, blood sugar, liver and kidney function and inflammation markers. Dr. Park adds others based on your symptoms.
Should I exercise my way out of fatigue?
Not if you have post-exertional malaise. Pushing through can trigger crashes. Pacing and a gradual, symptom-guided approach are safer.
Is my fatigue long COVID?
Possibly, if it began after a COVID-19 infection and other causes have been ruled out. The work-up and management are similar, and we tailor follow-up to your recovery.
How much does the fatigue work-up cost?
It depends on which tests you need. We explain the full price before anything is done, and national health insurance may or may not apply.
