Apgujeong Station (Line 3), Exit 5 · 1 min walk
VEI Clinic is an English speaking clinic in Gangnam, one minute from Apgujeong Station Exit 5. Dr. HyunSung Park, a board-certified internal medicine specialist, sees patients 1:1 in English for everyday illness, chronic conditions, checkups, lab tests, vaccinations, IV therapy and medical weight loss. Most people book by WhatsApp, and evening hours run until 20:00 on Tuesdays.
Why Gangnam locals use an English speaking clinic
If you live or work in Gangnam, you probably have more clinics within walking distance than you could ever visit. The difficulty is not finding a doctor; it is finding an English speaking clinic in Gangnam where you can explain a problem properly and understand the plan without a translation app.
VEI Clinic sits on Apgujeong-ro, a minute from Apgujeong Station on Line 3. Dr. HyunSung Park, the medical director, holds every consultation in English. Because you see the same doctor each time, he builds up a picture of your health over months and years, which is what most people actually want from a local clinic: someone who remembers the context.
Services at a glance
We are an internal medicine practice with a preventive and functional medicine focus. In one place you can get:

- Checkups and diagnostics: physicals, blood work, hormone and thyroid panels, allergy testing, H. pylori and hepatitis B testing, body composition
- Vaccinations: including flu shots and hepatitis B
- Medical weight loss: prescription GLP-1 medicines such as Wegovy and Mounjaro, with monitoring
- IV therapy and injections: hydration, vitamin and recovery drips after a medical review
Fitting a doctor's visit into a Gangnam workday
Most Gangnam office workers do not have half a day to spare. Opening hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 to 19:00, Tuesday 10:00 to 20:00, and Saturday 10:00 to 16:00. We close for lunch from 13:00 to 14:00 on weekdays, and we are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.
A WhatsApp message in the morning is usually the fastest way to secure a slot before or after a meeting. For a blood test that needs fasting, an early appointment means you only skip breakfast. If you are coming from Sinsa, Cheongdam or the Gangnam Station area, the subway or a short taxi ride gets you here easily.
Results from blood tests done here can often be reviewed at a short follow-up visit, so you are not left reading lab numbers on your own. If your company has an international insurance plan, ask for an itemized receipt at the desk so you can submit a claim.
Preventive care for people who live here long-term
Living in Gangnam often means long hours, frequent business dinners and little time for routine health checks. Many of our long-term patients come in first for a cold or a stomach problem and stay for the preventive side: an annual blood panel, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring, thyroid checks and vaccinations kept up to date.
Dr. Park's background in gastroenterology and functional medicine means digestive complaints, reflux, fatty liver concerns and metabolic health get particular attention. If you are interested in longevity-focused care, such as biological-age markers or nutritional testing, he will explain what the evidence does and does not support before you decide on any test.
Who this clinic is right for
VEI Clinic suits expats, international students, foreign spouses and Korean returnees who are more comfortable discussing health in English. It works well for people who want one doctor to coordinate their routine care, lab results and medications, and for those interested in prevention as well as treatment.
It is not the right first stop for emergencies, injuries needing X-rays or stitches, dental pain, pregnancy care or anything requiring endoscopy or surgery. In those cases we can refer you to a hospital, and we are happy to explain what to expect there.
Red flags: go to an emergency room instead
Do not wait for a clinic appointment if you or someone with you has chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke (face drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech), a seizure, severe abdominal pain with vomiting or a rigid belly, vomiting blood, a high fever with a stiff neck or confusion, or a serious injury. Call 119 in Korea; interpretation is available on the line.

Common questions
Is VEI an English speaking clinic in Gangnam for everyday illness, or only wellness?
Both. A large part of what we do is ordinary primary care and internal medicine, such as infections, stomach problems, blood pressure and checkups. IV therapy and weight-loss care are offered alongside that, not instead of it.
How do I book through WhatsApp?
Use the WhatsApp link on this site and send a short message with your name, the reason for your visit and your preferred times. We reply with available slots. You can reach us any time on WhatsApp (+82-10-5700-7597).
Can I see the same doctor every time?
Yes. Dr. HyunSung Park is the medical director and sees patients himself, so your care stays with one physician who knows your history.
Do you take Korean national health insurance?
Yes, for services that national insurance covers, as long as you are enrolled and bring your ARC. Elective services such as IV drips and weight-loss programs are not covered, and we confirm the full price before treatment.
Can my company send me for a pre-employment or annual checkup?
We provide physicals and checkups and can discuss what your employer requires. Bring any form or list of required tests so we can check whether we can complete it here.
Is there parking?
The clinic is on the third floor of the Beneheim City building at 162 Apgujeong-ro. Parking in the area is limited, so the subway is often easiest. Ask when you book if you plan to drive.
This page is general information reviewed by a physician and is not a substitute for a personal consultation. Treatment suitability, benefits and risks differ for each person and are discussed with you before any care. In an emergency in Korea, call 119.
